Simple Chicken Tacos 

This healthy and simple chicken taco recipe will spice up your next taco Tuesday! These tacos are filled with perfectly spiced juicy chicken and sautéed veggies. Top with your favorite toppings like guacamole and salsa.

Ingredients used to make these chicken tacos

  • Yellow Onion
  • Peppers
  • Avocado Oil
  • Chicken Breast 
  • Salt and Pepper

  • Homemade Taco Seasoning
    • Chili Powder 
    • Ground Cumin
    • Paprika
    • Garlic Powder

Topping Suggestions

Taco toppings are my favorite parts of a taco. You can make each one a little different. Here are some topping suggestions. 

  • Guacamole 
  • Salsa 
  • Sour Cream or Plain Greek Yogurt 
  • Pico De Gallo

Making the tacos

Begin by making the taco seasoning. It adds a spicy and sweet kick to your chicken and veggies. To make it, add chili powder, ground cumin, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to a jar and shake. Store it in an airtight container.

Dice the chicken breast and slice the pepper and onions. After that, heat a skillet over medium heat and add avocado oil. Add sliced pepper and onions and one tablespoon of taco seasoning. Sauté for 10 minutes or until the veggies are fully cooked. Place the veggies aside and cover with aluminum foil so they stay warm. Add a little more oil to the pan and add the chicken and one tablespoon of taco seasoning. Cook for 10- 12 minutes or until no longer pink, stirring constantly.

Now it is time to assemble your taco! Heat your tortilla on a stovetop grill or in the microwave and then add cooked veggies, chicken, and your favorite taco toppings. Enjoy!

  • 6 tortillas

Taco Seasoning

  • 3 tbsp chili seasoning
  • 2 tbsp ground cumin
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 2 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper

Instructions
