Mango Matcha Smoothie

This #fabfoursmoothie will start your day on the right foot. It has the perfect balance of protein, fats, fiber, and greens… and caffeine from the matcha. This balance of fat, fiber, protein, and greens will hold you over until lunch.

I am currently reading Body Love Every Day by Kelly Leveque and love how she explains the science behind certain foods and what makes a balanced meal. Since I have been working from home, I find myself snacking more. Kelly’s Fab Four formula will hold you over until the next meal. She created the fab four smoothie formula as a guide to have a balanced meal. I used to load my smoothies up with all types of fruit. They were delicious but as Kelly explains, your blood sugar will spike and 90 minutes later you will be hungry. This Matcha Mango Smoothie only has 1/4 a cup of fruit in it. It is enough to make the smoothie sweet but not enough to spike your blood sugar. This smoothie is full of veggies, protein, fat, and fiber and tastes just as good as a smoothie loaded with fruit.

Ingredients

  • Unsweetened Almond Milk
  • Spinach
  • Basil
  • Cauliflower
  • Lemon
  • Avocado
  • Chia Seeds
  • Flax Seeds
  • Matcha Collagen
  • Unflavored Collagen Peptides
  • Sea Salt (optional) 

Freeze Cauliflower – Optional 

Prepare for your smoothie by freezing the cauliflower. The cauliflower is optional. I like to add it to my smoothie to thicken them. Cauliflower takes on the flavors of the smoothie and creates a thicker smoothie without adding any sugar. It is like adding three bananas but not getting any of the sugar from the bananas and still getting the milkshake consistency. 

How do I make this smoothie?

Place all ingredients into a high-powered blender and blend to desired consistency. If you are using a Vitamix, use the tamper to blend everything quickly.

Mango Matcha Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 handful spinach
  • 3 basil leaves
  • ¼ large avocado 1 tbsp
  • ¼ cup mango
  • ½ cup cauliflower frozen
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 tbsp flax seeds
  • 1 scoop matcha collagen
  • 1 scoop unflavored collagen peptides sub for matcha is you can handle more caffeine
  • tsp sea salt optional

Instructions

  • Place all ingredients into a high-powered blender and blend to desired consistency.
  • If you are using a Vitamix, use the tamper to blend everything quickly.
  • Sprinkle with sea salt (optional)
