Crispy Air Fryer “Fried” Chicken
This Crispy Air Fryer “Fried” Chicken takes ten minutes to cook and is my new favorite chicken to meal prep. Top it on a salad, add it to a wrap, or have it by itself.
Crispy Air Fryer “Fried” Chicken Ingredients
- Chicken Breast: For this recipe, you will slice the chicken breast in half; then, using a meat mallet or rolling pin, pound the chicken breast between a quarter-inch and half-inch.
- Breadcrumbs: I used Trader Joe’s Japanese Style Panko Breadcrumbs. Any kind of breadcrumbs work. I like how these are a little bit bigger and make the chicken crispier.
- Parmesan Cheese: You will add the cheese to the breadcrumbs. It will crispy up perfectly!
- Olive Oil Spray: Before coasting the chicken with breadcrumbs, you will spray both sides with olive oil. The breadcrumbs will stick to the olive oil.
- Salt and Pepper: However much salt and pepper you like. I did a sprinkle of both.

How to make this Crispy Air Fryer “Fried” Chicken
Slice the chicken breast in half. Place parchment paper on top of the chicken breast and pound it with a meat mallet or rolling pin until the chicken is quarter-inch and half-inch thick. On a large plate, add breadcrumbs, parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper. Next, spray both sides of the chicken breast with olive oil. After that, place the chicken in the breadcrumbs mixture and coat both sides. Make sure you coat every part of the chicken breast with breadcrumbs. Next, turn on the air fryer to 390F. Spray the double layer rack with olive oil spray. Then, place coated chicken breast on the double layer rack and cook for 10 minutes. Flip the chicken halfway through. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you maybe have to do two rounds. Enjoy over a salad, in a wrap, or by itself!
