Buffalo Chicken Burgers

It’s BBQ season! No better reason to bust out the grill than these buffalo chicken burgers. They are plenty healthy and made with only a few ingredients. Perfect for your next barbeque!

Ingredients

  • Ground Chicken
  • Hot Sauce- I use Frank’s, but any hot sauce works!
  • Breadcrumbs- The breadcrumbs help hold the burger together.
  • Paprika
  • Salt
  • Pepper

How to Make Buffalo Chicken Burgers

If you are grilling outside, begin by preheating the grill to 350. I used a stovetop grill and that worked great as well! For a stovetop grill, warm up the grill on high heat.

Next, in a mixing bowl, combine ground chicken, salt, pepper, paprika, hot sauce, and breadcrumbs. Mix the ingredients together thoroughly. After that, separate into four equal parts and roll into balls. Place the balls on a plate and flatten into patties. They should be about an inch in thickness. Next, for the stovetop grill, turn down to medium heat and spray with olive oil. Place the patties on the grill. Grill each side for 5 minutes or until they are cooked all the way through. If you want to add cheese, add it two minutes before the burgers are done grilling, so it melts. Serve on a bun, or over lettuce, with your desired toppings.

How to Cook the Burgers

Outside Grill-  Grilling these burgers is best. You can enjoy the beautiful weather before you have these delicious burgers. Just heat the grill to 350 and cook them for five minutes or until they cooked all the way through. However, if you do not have an outside grill, using a stovetop grill or a skillet works well too!

Stovetop Grill– I love my stovetop grill! You still get those grill lines and grill taste! For the stovetop grill, begin by warming up the grill on high heat and then spray with olive oil and turn it down to medium heat while cooking. Grill each side for five minutes or until they cooked all the way through

Skillet– A skillet works too! Just add 1 teaspoon of olive oil and cook over medium heat. Cook each side for five minutes or until they cooked all the way through.

What toppings should go on a buffalo chicken burger?

Cheese– If you want to add cheese, add it two minutes before the burgers come off the grill, so it melts. Pepperjack goes excellent with the buffalo chicken! If you are having it over a bed of lettuce, try adding blue cheese crumbles. Blue cheese and hot sauce are the perfect duo!

Avacado- The creaminess of the avocado helps cuts some of the spice from the hot sauce.

Typical burger toppings– lettuce, onion, and tomatoes also are delicious on this buffalo chicken burger.
